Bio
Balinese surfer Garut Widiarta has been with Rip Curl since he was 12. Today the 21-year-old is recognized as one of the world's most promising teenage surfers, and he has received more high profile attention in the Indonesian and International media than any Indonesian surfer since Rizal Tanjung.
Surfer Magazine just voted him into the "Top 100" of the hottest young surfers in the world, and according to Indo-based photographer Jason Childs, Garut is "the best up and coming kid over here now, he's winning everything he enters and really blows up his free surfing sessions. The world's definitely going to see more of him" (Surfer Magazine).
My name is I Md Widiarta a.k.a Garut. I’m 21 years old, im from kuta.
All My family is a surfer like my uncle Ganti yasa, my cousin Bol, and Budin.
The first time I surf when I was 9 years old.
My uncle Ganti yasa want be to became a pro surfer. He always push me to go surfing everyday. even big waves or small wave.

Interview
Can you tell me about your bad story when you was in the water?Ya… for sure. When I was 10 years old when I surf at uluwatu . big wave and I get stuck on the reef. I was scare, I don’t know what I have to do. And my friend help me to go to the beach. Seriously I was scare on that time…!!!
Best surf trip in your life ?
Ya.. when I go trip with Tom Curren in mentawai . so much fun… good wave
And also when I trip to caroline island with the Hoobgoods.
Favorite spot in Bali and the world?
In Bali I like Padang-padang, uluwatu,bingin,mentawai and for sure my home brake halfway kuta beach. In the world I like D BAH, snaper rock… in australia
Who is your favorite surfer, why?
Mick fanning. He surf good, fast ,stylelist.
What is your ambition?
I want to be number one in my country and going to WCT like Mick Fanning.
