23rd December 2013

Bangkok, Thailand; 16 year old Wakeboarder and Rip Curl Team rider Daniel Grant made history last week by becoming the youngest ever person to become Wake Park World Series (WPWS) Features World Champion at the last stop of the championship Tour held at Thai Wake Park last weekend – 15th December 2013.

The World Wake Association (WWA) recognized World Title, was won by Grant in the best possible style when he took all three disciplines on the last event of the year, cementing the fact that his combined riding skills are unmatched by anyone else on the planet.
Grant – a Thai National of British father, won not only the “Features” sealing his incredible run throughout the whole year and clinching the Wake Park World Title for that category, but also found victory in Pro Men’s and Wake Skate divisions.

Speaking from his house just round the corner from Thai Wake Park - Grant commented; Features this year was a trip, having so many riders turn up to all 6 events has made it the hardest year ever to battle for features. All in all I’m glad the season is over, stoked to take this seasons features overall. Thanks to everyone who came out and supported all the WPWS events this year, can’t wait till next year!

Over the course of this year Daniel’s travels have seen him notch up over 115,000 air miles visiting a total of 46 cities reaching the podium 24 times, receiving 20 first places in Wake Skate, not to mention another 30 podiums and 14 first places in Wakeboard…
Not bad for someone who is just 16 years old!

Dan’s riding skills have also turned the heads of Industry and rider peers alike receiving the world’s most coveted titles including; Transworld Cable Rider of the year 2013 and Wakeworld Cable Rider of the year 2013.
